Description Loperamide 2 mg capsules are indicated for the relief of sudden diarrhoea, including traveller's diarrhoea. The active ingredient works by reducing intestinal motility, which leads to fewer bowel movements and firmer stool consistency. This medication is also used to decrease discharge output in patients with an ileostomy. Additionally, it may be used to manage persistent diarrhoea associated with inflammatory bowel disease. Loperamide addresses symptoms only and does not treat the underlying cause of diarrhoea, such as infection. A doctor should evaluate and determine appropriate treatment for other symptoms and the root cause. How to use Take as directed by your healthcare provider or pharmacist.
